Therapeutic Thai Massage

A “house favorite,” Therapeutic Thai Massage is performed on a massage-specific floor mat, utilizing bolsters and props for extra support.

The approach includes elements of acupressure points and fascial stretching to activate the Sen lines (similar in philosophy and function to the Meridian Lines in Traditional Chinese Medicine) to stimulate the flow of qi (energy) through the body so it can flow more freely.

The therapeutic benefits of this modality are from the effect of these deep pressure points in combination with the full-body stretching provided by the practitioner. These stretches can release superficial and deep fascial tension, increase flexibility and relieve overall body pain.

It is recommended to wear loose, comfortable clothing such as long or short- sleeve T-shirts and sweatpants.

Special Note from Jacqueline: I was trained in a sector of Thai Massage from the North of Thailand, through a teacher at Irene’s Myomassology Institute who translated the practice to me. Since, I have had the opportunity to learn and practice these techniques with various other colleagues. I have witnessed the benefits of this modality with various clients over the years who have experienced chronic shoulder, hip and back pain. These clients have continuously expressed the immense relief this modality has provided for them through consistency. If you’re new to Thai Massage, it may take a few sessions for your body to “understand” what the process is about, and soon you will notice and increased ability to relax the body limp to receive the stretches. This modality is highly recommended for athletes, yoga lovers or anyone who has a hard time stretching themselves.
